Since 2011, Sos el Arca Animal Rescue, Playa del Carmen, rescues street dogs and cats who are hurt, diseased and hungry. They receive veterinarian care and sanctuary until we find loving homes. Impoverished communities of Playa benefit from our monthly Spay and Neuter Campaigns to reduce the street animal population.

Volunteers are a crucial element of our work! Every Saturday from 11:30am till 3:00pm we have Doggy Baths where volunteers give our shelter dogs baths and take them for walks.
It’s vital time they wait all week and crucial work to keep the dogs clean and healthy. The dogs learn that humans are good and volunteers help erase negative memories our rescues have.
Our dogs rely on volunteer support greatly, and we cannot say thank you enough to EVERY SINGLE VOLUNTEER for their love and attention given to each dog.

Please welcome MASHA and her 3 puppies RUBY, RAMBO and BULLIT.
This poor girl appeared with her 3 puppies in a construction shop.
Alone. No collar.
Owners of construction have 3 Rottweiler and our Masha wasn’t accepting them, probably to protect her babies.
So we accepted them.
They look healthy, but we need to do full vetting: 4DX test to mother, sterilization gor the 4, vaccines, internal and external deworming.

This poor little boy was found sitting in a near a park. He was kicked in his face so hard that his eye popped out of his orbit and a few teeth are missing.
We brought him urgent to Dr. Lalo. He is entering now immediately into surgery.
We named him MUFFIN 🥰

El segundo día de nuestra campaña de esterilización gratuita se terminó con 210 esterilizaciones.
Total en 2 días 442 animales (perros y gatos) esterilizados gratuitamente.
De ellos fueron::

También hoy festejamos la esterilización gratuita no 10000 de 25 campañas completamente gratuitas desde febrero 2022 . Fue una perrita blanca y negra 😍❤️
