Giving back is a great way to start your weekend! Bring your family and friends, and let’s connect by giving love to our furry friends!
Our dogs are looking forward to being washed and walked, their chance to cool off and receive love and attention through human interaction. They are always so happy afterwards!

We are looking forward to seeing you tomorrow, Saturday, September 23rd, from 11:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m. to bathe and walk our shelter dogs. Let’s get together, take care of our furry friends, and have fun!

Heartworm prevention is an important concern for every dog owner. Prevention is a part of essential care, so today all of our 167 dogs got doses of heartworm preventative medication. We use Ivermectin, given orally once a month.

We are excited to share another happy update on Boomer, the strong pup who survived a car accident that left him with a serious head injury. Despite having a low chance of survival, Boomer has overcome the pain, and he is well on his way to enjoying his life again!

We monitor him very closely. He sleeps in a crate in our recovery room along with other dogs overcoming various injuries, and during the day, he stays outside in a shaded pen. He loves playing with other puppies, running around, and sunbathing.

Unfortunately, the impact of the car accident left him with some neurological impairment and his left eye has to be removed. He also walks in an uncoordinated way. We are still hoping that he will continue to get better and are so grateful he is alive and happy.

Thank you to all the donors who contributed towards Boomer’s hospitalization. We are very grateful for all of our supporters—it is thanks to you that we can help puppies like Boomer.

A concerned neighbor noticed an abandoned dog mama with her puppies. The “owner” had moved away and left behind this family behind an iron gate without access to food or water. The mama must have been very hungry, so in order to look for food she jumped over the gate and injured her back leg. With her injury, she was unable to jump back to feed her babies.

Luckily, a neighbor noticed her roaming back and forth and the puppies sticking their heads over the iron fence, so she called us and Cebiam, the city shelter, for help.
We took the mama immediately, so she is safe with us. We named her Frida.

The Cebiam is feeding the puppies till firefighters can break the gate so the puppies will be taken to Cebiam.

Another animal abuse case, though luckily this time help, thanks to that neighbor, came before it was too late. Frida’s body is covered with scars do she must have been bitten, suffering even before being abandoned.

We are so relieved that this family received help in time. We are taking Frida to Dr. Lalo to X-ray her leg today, hoping there is no fracture, so no surgery will be needed. We will update you as soon as we have results.

We kindly ask for your help with Frida’s vet costs: blood work, vaccinations, deworming and, once she is strong enough, spaying surgery.
