Impoverished communities of Playa benefit from our monthly Spay and Neuter Campaigns to reduce the street animal population.

This sweet mama dog wandered onto a vacant property. She was pregnant and then gave birth to 8 puppies! π
The owner of the lot didnβt want them on their property, so they were brought to our shelter.
With NOWHERE for them to go and fearing what could happen to themβ¦

She is an 11 year old dog who was wagging on the street. She was skinny and tires. A turist rescued her and took care of her until she had to return to her country so she brought her to the shelter. Sadly Mina has heart worm .
We need to do X-rays and electrocardiograph of her heart and then start heart worm treatment.
We need 420 USD to be able to do it.

she was nothing but skin and bones on the street. Fortunately, she put on some weight before you got her.
ππ»Help needed for JACKIE
Jackie was found by a cavern diver near the highway toward the jungle and brought to SOS el Arca Animal Rescue.
She was a severe medical case, and she went immediately into urgent care. She was malnourished, broken hips, as well as, complications of pelvic floor. We were worried she would become septic and die.
Basically, she was a mess! ππ
Surgeries #1 & 2: TOTAL NEEDED:
26,000 π²π½ pesos or ($1,250 USD)
(repairing right side & unblocking colon)
Surgery #3: TOTAL NEEDED: 9000 π²π½ pesos ($433 USD) (removing head of left femur)
